about
I wrote the song as Chris (guitar/vocals) was struggling with his sobriety. Happily, Chris will mark 2 years alcohol-free in April. The song tries to convey that inner monologue of guilt for doing something you know you shouldn't, but then going ahead and doing it anyways.
lyrics
Verse 1
My blinds Are broke
I pull the string
But nothings ever
Happening
Outside
The window
Where i live
So I
may never
Get it fixed
Pre Chorus
And I drink and I smoke
And I’m watching tv
And I buy all the things
That I really don’t need
And I eat and I sleep
And I’m crossing the line
And it’s all kinda sucks
But I really don’t mind
There’s a hole in the sky
I’m living the dream
as best I can tell
I’m a human that’s being
Just a waste of a space
So I throw it away
Chorus
And I do it again
Then I do it again
Then I do it again
Again and again and again
And I do it again
Then I do it again
Then I do it again
Again and again and again
Verse 2
My door Is broke
But it still swings
Enough To let
Me in again
It opens slow
But closes fast
And often
hits
me in
the back
Pre chorus
Chorus
